Magazine conventions

 Hello World!! Today's blog will focus on magazine's and their different codes/conventions. Conventions are rules or generally accepted ways to construct meaning, and ways to use media techniques in media products.

Masthead: This convention is used to grasp the readers attention with the lettering at the top of the magazine on the cover. 

Tagline: This convention is used to give an idea about what the magazine may be about and who may be interested in reading it.

Cover lines: This convention is used to give the potential reader an idea about the information published, for example, names of people mentioned.

Central Image: This convention is used to attract readers by who is photographed on the cover.

Cover Model: This convention is used to attract readers as well by usually having a celebrity as the cover model to persuade readers into buying. 

Colour Scheme: This convention sets the tone of the magazine by the colors, fonts, etc.

Barcode: This convention is found at the bottom of a magazine and its purpose is for readers to scan and purchase it.
